Bill Carnes is a fifth generation Oregonian and grew up in the era when gas was cheap. So, in the absence of much discretionary income for fancy vacations, his family spent all their free time exploring the wilds of Oregon, particularly the desert side of the state. As a result, Bill has a great deal of knowledge about what used to be the “secret places” of the state. He has a passion for finding and capturing the beauty and uniqueness of places most folks don’t visit for the grand scenery. While there are a number of the cliché shots in his collection, Bill tends to avoid shooting those scenes that have already been “shot to death.”
